Course 780: Introduction to in-line network encryptors

Description

In this basic TACLANE course, learners will familiarize themselves with the TACLANE family products and some basic IP network and keying concepts useful in understanding TACLANE. This course also addresses the COMSEC roles and responsibilities of appointed individuals who will be involved with TACLANE and will provide operational security requirements and doctrinal guidance to all who handle, distribute, account for or use the TACLANE.

  • Control and handling of the TACLANE
  • COMSEC incidents involving the TACLANE
  • HAIPE-to-HAIPE key transfers
  • IP networks and addressing
  • Key management concepts

Target audience

All Government of Canada (GC) departments, COMSEC custodians, designated COMSEC authorities and contractors, who handle, distribute, account for, configure and maintain TACLANE HAIPE/INE products.

Notes

This course is a mandatory prerequisite for the more in-depth Course 281 - TACLANE In-Line Network Encryptor.
