The Academic Outreach and Cyber Skills Development team works with the academic community and private sector educators to build cyber security talent and capacity in Canada by:
- aligning cyber career paths with the needs of the labour market;
- supporting the development of cyber skills in the academic sector;
- promoting the integration of cyber security curriculum in Canada’s education system;
- supporting cyber security career development initiatives, events and education campaigns with GC departments and academia.

Program Advisory Committee Participation
The Cyber Centre’s subject-matter experts are well-positioned to advise post-secondary institutions about developing new cyber security programs or improving existing programs to ensure graduating students are well-prepared for their careers and ready to meet the demands of their future employers.
Cyber Security Curriculum Review
Cyber security skills are in short supply around the world. Many Canadian academic institutions have recognized this shortage and are launching new cyber security programs and courses. The Cyber Centre is working with these institutions to improve the quality of cyber security education across Canada. Our cyber security experts can provide practical and technical guidance on your school’s existing or new cyber security program and courses.
