Reminder: Cyber security awareness and business continuity best practices

At this time, the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security would like to remind Canadians and all partners that we continue to monitor cyber security threats, and will share tips and information with our Government of Canada and critical infrastructure partners and stakeholders to help mitigate risks in the event of a cyber incident.

Good cyber security and business continuity best practices help to manage cyber risks in the face of today’s most prevalent threats. At the top of your list should be ensuring you are running the latest version of your operating system and security/anti-virus software, and applying updates whenever they are available. The Cyber Centre also publishes advice and guidance, including the importance of security awareness training for users, and robust incident response plans for organizations. Some useful tips and practical steps are provided below:

If any Canadian business or organization suspects they have been a victim of a cyber incident, we encourage them to report these incidents to the Cyber Centre at contact@cyber.gc.ca. We work with affected organizations to mitigate cyber security incidents.
