Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the security advisory released by VMware.

VMware product update addresses multiple security issues in different VMware products
Affected Products:

  • ESXi prior to versions 6.0 and 5.5
  • VMware Workstation Pro prior to version 12.5.0
  • VMware Workstation Player prior to version 12.5.0
  • VMware Fusion prior to version 8.5.0
  • VMware Tools versions 10.x and 9.x

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
