On 28 April 2020 VMware released a security advisory to address an important vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2020-3955, affecting VMware ESXi v6.5 and v6.7. An actor with access to modify the system properties of a virtual machine from inside the guest os (such as changing the hostname of the virtual machine) may be able to inject a malicious script.
