Assessment

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the United Kingdom’s independent authority on Cyber Security, has produced a report regarding their ongoing investigation of Ryuk ransomware RansomwareA type of malware that denies a user's access to a system or data until a sum of money is paid. and related malware MalwareMalicious software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system, without the owner's consent. Common forms of malware include computer viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, and adware. , dated 22 June 2019. The Cyber Centre would like to highlight this report as it provides valuable information to system owners and operators responsible for defending their systems and networks from ransomware attack.
