Oracle Security Alert for CVE-2016-0636

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to Oracle Security Alert for CVE-2016-0636.

Assessment

Oracle released a security update to address vulnerability in JAVA SE that may allow an attacker to remote exploit the affected user’s system.

Affected software version:

  • Oracle Java SE 7 Update 97, and 8 Update 73 and 74 for Windows, Solaris, Linux, and Mac OS X

Suggested Action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
