Cisco security advisory

On 19 August 2020 Cisco published Security Advisories to address vulnerabilities in multiple products. Included was a critical severity patch for the following:

  • Cisco vWAAS for Cisco ENCS 5400-W Series and CSP 5000-W Series with NFVIS-bundled image releases 6.4.5, or 6.4.3d and prior

The affected software has user accounts with default, static passwords. By exploiting this vulnerability, a remote actor could gain access to the Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure Software (NFVIS) command line interface (CLI), with administrator privileges.
