Purpose
The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the newest release of the Apache HTTPD Server, Version 2.4.23.
Assessment
Apache has released its newest version of the HTTPD Web Server. Version 2.4.23 is considered to be a feature and bug fix release with many improvements and enhancements over the previous 2.X versions. Specifically, Version 2.4.23 addresses an issue whereby a third party could gain access to resources on the web server with a bypass of the TLS certificate Authentication if http/2 is enabled.
Apache HTTPD Server 2.4.23 is currently available for download.

Suggested Action
CCIRC recommends that system administrators refer to available documentation with regards to testing and deploying the newest Apache version.
