On 15 July 2020 ABB released a Cyber Security Notification stating it was currently assessing the impact of the recently-disclosed Treck TCP/IP stack vulnerabilities, commonly known as Ripple20, on its products. ABB indicated that analysis was ongoing and has provided a preliminary list identifying the following protection relay products as vulnerable:
- 611 series
- 615 series
- 620 series
- RBX615
- REC615/RER615
- 3U REF615
- SMU615
- REX640
